Dance! Dance!

Graphic Design | 2d motion

This piece is “Dance Invitation Card,” an invitation to a star dance party. Each of the three cards contains dance steps, safety tips, and reflection questions from its party. The project began as a 2D motion piece and later expanded into Risograph printing. Through the Risograph process, I created three different color combinations to create different atmospheres within each version.

Gonzo Girl

Sequential Design

The concept explores Cheryl’s transformation during her five months as Hunter S. Thompson’s assistant, where she embraced his bold and spontaneous mindset. The character, representing Cheryl, dives into a sea of Hunter and lands inside his whiskey glass—symbolizing her immersion in his chaotic world. A simplified illustration style and vibrant colors reflect the playful energy and fearless creativity she gained through the experience.

A Village

Graphic Design

This series is a visual exploration of designing a village. I mapped out how people of various shapes and colors live and interact within it.

  1. Various people in a village are standing in front of the fountain.
  2. A big question.
    ......?!
  3. People live in different areas within the village.
  4. A scene from the village — someone is jumping, while another is playing in the pool.

    Goodbye Pluto

    2d motion

“Goodbye Pluto” has a concept that centers on Pluto navigating its way out of the solar system’s maze after a minor collision causes its expulsion. Inspired by Pluto’s scientific reclassification, the project incorporates geometric shapes, lattice patterns, and dynamic interactions within the maze to evoke a sense of cosmic engineering. High-chroma colors and sparkling backgrounds contribute to a dream-like, surreal atmosphere.

Source Material - Issue 09: Taboo

      Graphic Design

      View Full Project

Source Material (SM / @source__material) is a student-led publication supported by ArtCenter’s Writing Center. Created by and for students, SM is dedicated to publishing work that celebrates multidisciplinary collaboration and challenges traditional, institutionalized design. With each issue, we hope to bridge voices between classroom and department walls.

      SM Team:
Nick Rheem / Matt Demas / Hui Kwon
/ Vy Huynh / Garden Choi

Issue 09: Taboo invites you to question unspoken rules and norms—what’s acceptable, what isn’t, and who decides—while creating space for the personal, private, and often unsaid stories that challenge societal boundaries.
In this issue, we feature exploring the experiences we don’t usually share—whether because they feel too small to matter or too big to hold alone. By doing so, we hope to find connection in the things left unsaid, where others can relate. Or reveal things that go beyond ourselves.

      Biobrochure: Seonran Cheon

      Graphic Design

Inspired by Seonran Cheon’s boundless storytelling, this work visualizes the relationships between humans, non-human beings, and the vast universe, where limitless imagination always returns to the essence of human connection. Exploring themes of resonance, universe, wandering, and coexistence, the visuals begin in the vastness of space, where elements drift freely, gradually converging and finding connection as they descend toward Earth. Through delicate linework and layered compositions, a "crowded but light" atmosphere emerges, reflecting both the expansiveness of space and the interconnectedness in her narratives.

      NewYork Type Conference 2025

      Graphic Design | Branding

      View Full Project
This is a branding project for Type Conference 2025.
My assigned city was New York, and the main focus of the concept was the city’s iconic sense of crowdedness and massive flow. Each circle represents one of the countless individuals moving through the city, capturing the energy and movement that define New York. I was inspired by this dynamic flow as a symbol of the city itself, and used it as the foundation for the logo design. Based on this concept, I designed a logo and applied it across various materials, including a Type25 event poster, type specimen booklet, name tag, and T-shirt.

      Winter Music Box

      3d motion

“Winter Music Box” draws inspiration from my personal connection to Christmas and the uplifting feeling it brings. By combining the themes of Christmas and a music box, the project captures how carol music lifts my spirits and evokes a sense of joy.

      Spotify

      Sequential Design

‘Spotify’ is 4 frame sequential design for the brand Spotify logo reveal project. This project is focused on how Spotify evokes the imagination based on creating light emerging from the darkness. The style of work has rough texture of colored pencils and brushes and stark contrast between the dark background, and vibrant colors of the glowing object which creates a magical, lucky feeling.
